ONGOING: FOOD NOT BOMBS
Where, When
and Why
Food not Bombs is an all voluntary organisation dedicated to non-violence and active peace. We collect food that otherwise would be thrown out and make hot vegetarian meals that are served to anyone, in city parks, at protests and to the homeless. Food not bombs doesn’t just provide free hot meals for all but also helps create a community that is healthier and better capable of dealing with our rapidly collapsing economy.

FOOD NOT BOMBS
Where, When
We will be preparing free food every Thursday on Thomas St. just outside NCAD (unless the weather is wet, then its inside NCAD) it starts at around 6pm and ends when we run out of food. Everyone is welcome!

Free Food? If distributed equally the world produces enough food to feed everyone. In fact the EU every day in every city far more edible food is thrown out than is needed to feed those who do not have enough to eat. Before food reaches your table it is produced and handled by farmers co-ops, manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers. At every step some perfectly edible food is discarded for a variety of business reasons.
Approximately 10% of all solid waste in an average city is food. In the EU alone 46 billion pounds of food per year is discarded. Only 4 billion pounds of food per year would be required to completely end hunger in the EU. Clearly there is an abundance of food being thrown away. It seems we do not have a democratic say in how food is produced or distributed. Business dictates how food reaches the people.
We invite you to work with us to provide desperately needed services to our community. We can make a difference!
These first three are from Thursday 27th November
